Designing a logo for a business that offers birth and family services when I was nine months pregnant seemed all to fitting and I was excited when Rowenna of Kinderhaven Birth & Family Services in Milwaukee came to us to design her logo. She liked the idea of a simplified, abstract family in a soft, tranquil colour pallet.
After a few rounds of concepts, adjustments and tweaks we landed on the final logo with simple lines depicting a family in the very center of the logo mark – symbolizing the importance and central nature of family within her business. It was important to Rowenna that the logo included both a mother and a father as many of her competitors only focus on mom/baby and her focus on the family as a whole is one aspect that sets her apart.
We agreed on a colour story of light teals and greys to be both modern and also light and airy. The font is both structured, but friendly paired with a more playful and inviting script sub-font. We also designed sub logos and a stamp for her to use in various applications.
Some of the concepts that were presented during our logo journey, most fitting the brief and a few that broke the mold a wee bit, but I still wanted Rowenna to see.
And finally, the final branding package.
